The IMEX-Tarragona fair closed its doors after almost two days of intense activity in Warehouse 1 of the Port of Tarragona, where all the players of the foreign sector have gathered to promote the internationalisation of SMEs in the region. Thi
Tarragona stands out as one of the most important provinces in terms of exports, not only in Catalonia, but also in Spain. In this sense, the director of the IMEX Fair, José Terreros, said that "there is an evident growth in exports in Tarragona and somehow we had to be present here, and what better way to do it than with a travel partner like the Chamber of Commerce of Tarragona to bring together in a single space all the possibilities that are available to small and medium companies to internationalize successfully.
Those attending the fair were also able to visit the exhibition area and attend the conferences and round tables given by more than 50 specialist speakers from the sector. Given the great opportunities offered by the African market and the fact that the agri-food industry is one of the main assets of the Port of Tarragona, these two issues have been the main focus of this first edition of the IMEX-Tarragona trade fair.
AFEPASA has a long experience and knowledge of the African continent, and for this reason, the CEO, Manel Montaño, participated in the round table on "Africa, a continent of opportunities".
Organised by the international business magazine Moneda Única and the Tarragona Chamber of Commerce, this first edition of IMEX-Tarragona has met expectations. During these days, 479 professionals interested in doing business internationally have attended the fair and 311 meetings have been held with representatives of 33 potential countries to do business.
The event aroused great interest, especially from companies in the service sector. The majority of those attending the fair were businessmen with a clear commitment to internationalization who wanted to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the IMEX Fair to obtain advice on commercial, fiscal, logistical or legal matters when they go abroad.
IMEX is the first and most important international business and foreign trade fair held in Spain. It has already held 16 editions in Madrid, 6 in Catalonia, 5 in Andalusia, 4 in the Valencian Community and 2 in Castilla-La Mancha and Asturias. Inaugurated in 2003, the IMEX fair organized by the International Business Magazine Moneda Única, works to improve the competitiveness of SMEs through an effective and innovative offer of the products and services needed to promote the internationalization of our companies.
