Las causas de la carencia de nutrientes en las plantas pueden ser:

1. La ausencia de ese nutriente en el suelo. Si hablamos de carencias nutricionlaes hay que distinguir principalmente 2 tipos:

   • La carencia de macronutrientes: estos nutrientes en las plantas se soluciona aportando fertilizantes según las dosis aconsejadas. Se trataría de carencias en cuanto a N, P, K, Mg, Ca y S.
   
   
   •                    
   • La carencia de micronutrientes: su carencia se soluciona aportando fertilizantes más específicos, que en este caso se pueden aplicar al suelo pero y sobre todo pulverizando las hojas. La nutrición vía foliar resulta interesante en este caso ya que la planta necesita pequeñas cantidades, pero no tanto para macronutrientes (Fe, Mn, Zn, B, Cu Mo, Cl) que sólo puede ser un complemento a las raíces.
                    

    

2.   El pH del suelo

<p>Un pH inadecuado (meter foto dispnibilidad nutrientes) puede presentar carencias de elementos en la planta o también propiciar toxicidad de otros elementos. De esta manera a ciertos pH podemos encontrar micronutrientes que si están disponibles para seren absorbidos por la planta pero sin embargo no estarlo los macronutrientes. Para solucionarlo debe existir un equilibrio. Con un pH básico la mayoría de micronutrientes no están disponibles y es necesario reducirlo.</p>

3. <p>El exceso de otro nutriente en el suelo. (nutrientes antagónicos)</p>

Productos que contiene sustancia/s y/o microorganismos cuya función cuando se aplican a las plantas, semillas o al suelo es estimular los procesos naturales para beneficiar la absorción de nutrientes o regularlo, la eficacia de éstos, la tolerancia al estrés abiótico y/o la calidad de la cosecha, independientemente de su contenido en nutrientes.

Para ellos regulan, promueven e intensifican reacciones bioquímicas y eventos fisiológicos, relacionados con el crecimiento y el desarrollo a lo largo del ciclo vital de las plantas. Por ejemplo, al encontrarse expuestas a condiciones ambientales y relaciones abióticas adversas o no ideales normalmente. Al darse esto, la planta no puede expresarse a su máximo potencial en tiempo, forma, cantidad, velocidad y normalidad en sus eventos y etapas de crecimiento y desarrollo. Esto ocurre al generarse estrés ambiental tanto por elevadas o bajas Temperaturas como por viento, agua en exceso o defecto, daños por radiación e incluso síntomas de fitotoxicidad que aceleran el ataque de enfermedades en los tejidos vegetales.
