Benefits of elemental sulphur fertilisation in lettuce

The current trend in society is towards an increasingly marked increase in the consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables.

The present study assesses a change from the traditional lettuce fertilizing using sulphates, to a fertilizing with elemental sulphur. Elemental sulphur is a secondary macronutrient with the ability to lower the pH.
