AFEPASA Greenhouse Sulphur Tablets offer an effective solution for controlling powdery mildew in greenhouse crops through the controlled application of sulfur via evaporators, delivering outstanding results.
These tablets are the only ones on the market with phytosanitary registration number ES-01483 and registration for organic farming, providing farmers with a unique solution fully adapted to the needs of greenhouse cultivation.
The development of greenhouse agriculture represents an excellent alternative for greater control over external conditions affecting crop growth, overcoming the limitations associated with adverse atmospheric conditions, such as temperature and humidity, especially regarding the seasonality of harvests.
However, despite efforts to create an ideal environment for optimal crop development, plants face the risk of diseases, particularly powdery mildew, which thrives in favorable conditions. It is essential to provide these crops with plant protection measures specifically adapted to greenhouses, such as incorporating environmental sulfur vapor through specific evaporators.
Recognizing this need, AFEPASA has dedicated its research and development efforts to creating sulfur tablets specifically designed for greenhouse use through evaporators. As a result, they have developed and registered AFEPASA Greenhouse Sulphur Tablets in multiple European countries.
AFEPASA Greenhouse Sulphur Tablets weigh 115 grams per unit, with 99.5% purity. They stand out for their convenience, quality, and safety in handling, as well as their high efficacy compared to other market alternatives. They offer the exact dose for slow and effective application, preventing potential risks associated with excessive overload and the generation of residues and impurities in greenhouse evaporators.
During the spring of 2021, a field trial was conducted at the Cajamar Experimental Station "Las Palmerillas" in El Ejido to compare the effectiveness of different treatment strategies for protecting greenhouse crops from powdery mildew. Three multi-tunnel greenhouses were used, each with an area of 630 m² and planted at a density of 2,500 plants/Ha.
Three different treatment strategies were analyzed: the traditional use of sulfur evaporators in lentil format, the use of evaporators with AFEPASA Greenhouse Sulphur Tablets, and the usual control method through foliar spraying applications of wettable sulfur (WG).
The results showed that the most effective treatment for preventing and reducing the incidence of powdery mildew was the use of AFEPASA Greenhouse Sulphur Tablets. Additionally, it was demonstrated that their application via evaporators is compatible with natural enemies, such as Amblyseius swirskii, without affecting their natural protection capacity against other pests.
At AFEPASA, we are dedicated to offering cutting-edge solutions to protect crops. Our commitment to innovation and excellence drives us to continue developing products that ensure the success of our customers and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
